Sexual Health Centre: LGBTI+ Support Worker

?LGBTI+ SUPPORT WORKER

The _Sexual Health Centre_, in partnership with Cork Local Drug &
Alcohol Task Force, is seeking an exceptional, positive individual to
join the team to undertake the delivery of our DASH (Drugs, Alcohol,
Sexual Health) ? LGBTI+ work. This pioneering project will see the
roll out of a mobile unit that will combine drugs, alcohol and sexual
health services across the Cork and Kerry region. In this role, you
will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the
overall strategy of the _Sexual Health Centre_.

Funded by the Department of Children, Equality Diversity, Integration
and Youth, the aim of this project is to co-create the delivery of
LGBTI+ drugs, alcohol and sexual health support to those in Cork &
Kerry. Research highlights the lack of focus in supporting romantic
relationships of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people
?despite evidence of relationship-oriented risks, including STI/HIV
infection, unplanned pregnancy, and interpersonal violence? (Greene
et al, **Apply on the website**). Isolation, anxiety, disconnect and
uncertainty remain interconnected with growing up in Ireland as an
LGBTI+ person. Thus, LGBTI+ individuals lack education, insight and
supports for good healthy relationships, sexual health practices and
protections. The DASH-LGBTI+ Support Worker will be responsible for
developing and devising an inclusive drug, alcohol and sexual health
service for all.

If you are a strategic and driven professional with strong planning,
analytical and stakeholder co-ordination skills, this could be the
ideal role for you. This novel project combining the work of Cork
Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force and the Sexual Health Centre focuses
on delivering additional outreach sexual health, drug and alcohol
information and support direct to communities across Cork and Kerry.
These enhanced services to communities, delivered through an inclusive
lens will enable access to information, signposting and support to
enable behaviour change opportunities and improve outcomes for service
users.

This is a full-time, fixed term contract until June **Apply on the
website**.
